Import permit desk
Every shipment needs its own MCAZ import permit, and only a licensed importer can hold one. We run the paperwork around your importer, consignment by consignment.
Each consignment has its own rules.
- A permit covers one consignment and is valid for six months. A used permit can’t be amended.
- On arrival MCAZ charges a verification fee of 2% of the CIF value before the goods can be cleared.
- Medicines may only enter through MCAZ’s designated ports, never by post.
What we do
Importer appointmentThe once-off notification (form I.E 1) that your wholesaler is your appointed importer, with your letter listing the products.
Each permit applicationMCAZ form I.E 2 with the supplier’s pro-forma invoice and your consent letter, filed for every consignment.
Verification feeWe track the fee on each consignment and the arrival notice, so goods aren’t held at the port.
Customs with ZIMRAClearing work is reserved for Zimbabwean citizens, so we coordinate a licensed clearing agent rather than doing it ourselves.
What we need from you
- Your consent and appointment letter. On your letterhead, dated, naming the importer and the products they may import.
- Importer’s wholesale dealer’s permit. If you have a copy.
- Zimbabwe registration certificates. For each product on the permit.
- Pro-forma invoices. From the supplier, one per consignment. Send each new one from your status page. Can follow later.
